Hello and welcome to my site.

I am compelled to make things. I don't really know what it is that inspires me; I just enjoy it.
Hopefully, you'll see something on this site that inspires you.
The Collection section has some of what it is that I do. The Commissions section has a couple of examples of projects that I was commissioned to do.
I stay pretty busy, but many of the pieces take a while to complete and I often get myself involved in undertakings that are very time-consuming. So if you don't see any new pieces on here for a couple weeks, don't think I've given up.
As I said before, I am compelled to make things.

After a long break from painting, I wanted to reconnect with my past. My grandmother had taught me to use oils when I was ten years old and it seemed like the best place to start. I dusted off my oils and began with some still-lifes, painted over them and searched for something I would want to look at day after day. It didn't take long for me to settle on the Chicago Skyline.
When painting I am most influenced by Abstract Expressionism. I prefer my paintings as objects rather than illusions.
There's an honesty to it. I like these works to be frameless; not keeping the eye on a two-dimensional representation, but acknowledging the depth of the piece and it's relationship to the wall behind it and by extension the space around it. The sides of the pieces are painted as well.
